Medicaid Community-Based Attendant Services and Support Act of 2005

This bill would require state Medicaid programs to cover community-based attendant services and supports for eligible individuals with disabilities, allowing them to live in their own homes and communities rather than in nursing homes or other institutions. It provides states with increased federal funding to help transition individuals out of institutional care and into community-based settings where they can manage their own personal care services. Additionally, the legislation establishes grants for states to develop "real choice" systems and funds demonstration projects to better coordinate care for individuals who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
