Honoring Female Congressional Pioneers Act of 2007

The Honoring Female Congressional Pioneers Act of 2007 proposed the creation of a special "semipostal" postage stamp that would be sold at a price slightly higher than the standard mailing rate. The additional funds raised from these sales would be used to acquire and publicly display artwork honoring trailblazing women in government, such as Jeanette Rankin and Shirley Chisholm. This legislation would have provided citizens with a voluntary way to support the recognition of women’s political history through their regular postal purchases.
