FIGHT Act of 2025

The FIGHT Act of 2025 (Fighting Inhumane Gambling and High-risk Trafficking Act) would amend the Animal Welfare Act to enhance protections for roosters and combat animal fighting. The bill would make it unlawful to sponsor or exhibit animals in fighting ventures, attend animal fighting events, facilitate minors under 16 from attending such events, or gamble on animal fighting whether in-person or broadcasted. The legislation would also prohibit transporting roosters for fighting purposes and includes technical updates to animal welfare law enforcement provisions. If enacted, the bill would provide law enforcement with stronger legal tools to prosecute animal fighting operations and associated gambling activities.
