Students Helping Young Students Act of 2023

The Students Helping Young Students Act of 2023 proposes to expand the federal work-study program to include positions at public elementary and secondary schools. Under this bill, college students could receive federal work-study compensation for working in after-school, before-school, or other out-of-school community service programs. The goal of the legislation is to provide college students with more diverse employment opportunities while increasing the staff available to support K-12 students in supervised educational activities.
