Vet Center Improvement Act of 2021

The Vet Center Improvement Act of 2021 aims to improve the quality of mental health and readjustment services provided to veterans by reforming how Vet Centers are managed and staffed. The bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to create a standardized staffing model and update counselor productivity standards based on direct feedback from the employees who provide care. Additionally, the legislation establishes a grant program to help Vet Centers and other VA facilities address food insecurity among veterans and their families.
