Combating Trafficking of Cuban Doctors Act of 2021

This bill would restart a federal program that allows Cuban doctors and other medical professionals working in third countries to apply for legal entry into the United States. It requires the State Department to monitor and report on whether the Cuban government is subjecting these workers to forced labor or human trafficking during their overseas assignments. For eligible medical personnel and their families, the bill provides a pathway to seek protection and residency in the U.S. if they are being exploited while serving abroad.
