Emergency Security Supplemental to Respond to January 6th Appropriations Act, 2021

This bill provides approximately $3.7 billion in emergency funding to address security needs following the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, while also funding COVID-19 recovery and international humanitarian efforts. It allocates resources to reimburse the National Guard, upgrade Capitol security infrastructure, and establish a dedicated task force to assist the U.S. Capitol Police. Additionally, the legislation expands the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa program to provide more visas and streamlined processing for Afghan citizens who assisted the U.S. government.
