Summary
Requires the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to enter into a contract with the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences for the conduct of a study on the ability of the organization and financing in the field of health services research to meet the future information needs of the United States.
Directs the Institute of Medicine to consider, at a minimum, the Federal role in supporting health sciences research, particularly the role of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
