Safe Temperature Act of 2023

The Safe Temperature Act of 2023 would authorize the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to set specific indoor temperature requirements for federally assisted housing. Under this bill, public housing units, supportive housing for the elderly, and homes participating in the Section 8 voucher program would be required to maintain a temperature range between 71 and 81 degrees Fahrenheit.
