No Taxation Without Representation Act of 2001

This bill would grant residents of the District of Columbia full voting representation in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. For any period during which D.C. residents do not have this representation, the bill would exempt them from paying federal income taxes. If enacted, the measure would ensure that the city's citizens either have a voting voice in the federal government or are no longer required to financially support it through federal taxation.
