Dru's Law

Dru’s Law (S. 792) aims to increase public safety by requiring the U.S. Attorney General to create a single, publicly accessible national website that combines sex offender registry data from all 50 states. This database would allow citizens to search for registered offenders by name or location and view their photographs, addresses, and criminal histories. Additionally, the bill requires states to notify authorities before high-risk offenders are released from prison and mandates intensive monitoring for those who are not civilly committed. States that fail to implement these tracking and reporting standards risk losing a portion of their federal criminal justice funding.
