Internet Tax Nondiscrimination Act

This bill would make permanent a nationwide ban on state and local governments taxing internet access fees or imposing multiple and discriminatory taxes on online purchases. By removing the expiration date of the original Internet Tax Freedom Act, the legislation ensures that consumers would not see new state or local taxes added to their monthly internet service bills. The goal of the measure is to keep internet access affordable and to prevent electronic commerce from being subject to higher tax rates than traditional brick-and-mortar transactions.
