A joint resolution relating to the disapproval of the Presidential report with respect to the indebtedness of the Government of Ukraine.

This joint resolution was introduced to block a proposal by the Biden administration to cancel approximately $4.65 billion in economic debt owed by the government of Ukraine to the United States. Under the terms of a supplemental funding act passed earlier in 2024, the President was granted the authority to forgive portions of these loans unless Congress passed a formal resolution of disapproval.

If this resolution had been enacted, it would have required Ukraine to repay the full amount of the loans to the U.S. Treasury rather than having the debt forgiven. However, the Senate voted against proceeding with the measure on November 20, 2024, effectively allowing the debt cancellation to move forward as planned.
