James Lankford was born on March 4, 1968. An ordained Southern Baptist minister, he spent much of his professional career leading religious youth programs. From 1996 to 2009, he served as the president of the Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, a youth camp run by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.

Political career

James Lankford, a Republican, began his congressional service in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he represented Oklahoma's 5th district from 2011 to 2015.
