Risch, James E.

James E. Risch is a Republican Senator from Idaho who has served in the U.S. Senate since 2009. Before entering federal office, he built an extensive career in Idaho state government, serving as a state senator for over two decades, twice as lieutenant governor, and as the 31st governor of Idaho. A lawyer by trade, he earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Idaho and previously served as a prosecuting attorney and a successful trial lawyer.
