Jacky Rosen was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018, defeating one-term Republican senator Dean Heller to become the junior senator from Nevada. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1979 and an associate degree in computing and information technology from Clark County Community College in 1985. Before beginning her political career, Rosen worked as a computer programmer and software developer.
