Craig, Angie

Angie Craig represents Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District, which spans the southern Twin Cities suburbs and surrounding rural areas. First elected in 2018, she is the first openly LGBT+ person to represent Minnesota in Congress and the first lesbian mother to serve in the House. Before entering public service, Craig worked as a journalist in Tennessee and spent over a decade as an executive at St. Jude Medical, specializing in human resources and corporate communications.

In the House, Craig holds a significant leadership role as the Ranking Member of the Committee on Agriculture. Her legislative work frequently focuses on rural development, healthcare costs, and government accountability. She has sponsored several key measures, including the Affordable Insulin Now Act and the Farm and Family Relief Act, reflecting her district's mix of suburban and agricultural interests.

Beyond her committee work, Craig has advocated for ethics reform through the Presidential Conflicts of Interest Accountability Act and the No Pay for Disarray Act. In early 2025, she announced her intention to seek a seat in the United States Senate in the 2026 election. Throughout her tenure, she has maintained a focus on balancing the needs of her diverse constituency while championing transparency in federal programs.
