Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Jasmine Crockett earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Rhodes College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. She began her legal career as a public defender in Bowie County before establishing her own law firm, where she specialized in civil rights, criminal defense, and personal injury law. Her professional background also includes providing pro bono legal representation for activists and protesters.
Political career
Jasmine Crockett began her political career as the chair of the Bowie County Democratic Party and later served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022 to represent Texas's 30th congressional district and was sworn into office in 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she represents a majority-minority district based in Dallas.
