House Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, 2021

The House Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, 2021 is a special investigative panel operating under the House Judiciary Committee. The subcommittee is authorized to conduct a full and complete investigation and study and issue a final report of the events surrounding January 6, 2021. With subpoena power to compel testimony and documents, the subcommittee will examine law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and scrutinize the former January 6 select committee's work. The select subcommittee is composed of not more than eight Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner appointed by the Speaker of the House, of whom not more than three shall be appointed in consultation with the minority leader. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., chairs the new subcommittee, which falls under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee. Eric Swalwell serves as Ranking Member of the Select Subcommittee. The subcommittee's findings are due by the end of 2026.
