Background
Born on February 26, 1976, Daniel Goldman earned a law degree and began his career clerking for judges in the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals. He served as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2007 to 2017, where he prosecuted cases involving organized crime and securities fraud. Before entering Congress, he also worked as a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC and served as a fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice.
Political career
Before entering Congress, Daniel S. Goldman served as an assistant United States attorney and later as the lead majority counsel for the first impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump in 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he has represented New York's 10th congressional district since being sworn in in 2023. He previously sought the Democratic nomination for attorney general of New York in the 2022 election before withdrawing from the race.
