Background
Timothy M. Kennedy was born on October 20, 1976. Before entering public office, he worked as a licensed occupational therapist at Catholic Health from 1999 to 2010. He began his political career in late 2004 when he was appointed to the Erie County Legislature at the age of 28.
Political career
Timothy M. Kennedy began his political career in the Erie County Legislature, where he served from 2005 to 2010 before winning election to the New York State Senate. He represented the state's 58th and 63rd districts as a Democrat for thirteen years, eventually chairing the Transportation, Infrastructure, and Capital Investment Committee. In April 2024, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election to represent New York's 26th district for the remainder of the 118th Congress.
