Background
Morgan Luttrell is an alumnus of Sam Houston State University, where he later served as an adjunct professor teaching law enforcement leadership. He served for 14 years as a United States Navy SEAL, retiring in 2014 as a Naval Special Warfare Officer following injuries sustained in a helicopter crash. Before his election to Congress, he worked as a senior advisor in the U.S. Department of Energy and founded the businesses Trexxler Energy Solutions and Stronos Industries.
Political career
Before entering elective office, Morgan Luttrell served as a senior advisor to Secretary Rick Perry in the United States Department of Energy from 2017 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was first sworn in to represent Texas's 8th congressional district in 2023. He transitioned to public service following a career as a U.S. Navy SEAL and a businessman in the energy and campaign services industries.
