Stauber, Pete

Pete Stauber is a Republican Representative serving Minnesota's 8th Congressional District, a position he has held since 2019. Born and raised in Duluth, he attended Lake Superior State University, where he captained the hockey team to a national championship before playing professionally in the Detroit Red Wings organization. Prior to his election to Congress, Stauber served for over two decades as a police officer with the Duluth Police Department and held local office as a Hermantown City Councilor and St. Louis County Commissioner.

In the House, Stauber is a prominent voice on energy and natural resources, currently serving as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. His legislative work frequently focuses on domestic mining and energy independence, as seen in his sponsorship of the Critical Mineral Dominance Act. He also holds assignments on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Committee on Small Business, where he advocates for rural development and infrastructure projects like the replacement of the Blatnik Bridge.
