Authorizing the use of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center for the unveiling of a statue of Martha Hughes Cannon.

This resolution authorizes the use of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center on December 11, 2024, for a ceremony to unveil a statue of Martha Hughes Cannon. Cannon was a pioneer in American history, serving as a physician and public health advocate, as well as becoming the first woman elected to a state senate in the United States. This measure allows the Architect of the Capitol and the Capitol Police Board to make the necessary arrangements for the public event honoring her contributions to women’s suffrage and medicine.
