Sue VOYEURS Act

The Sue VOYEURS Act would establish a federal civil right of action allowing victims of video voyeurism to sue individuals who secretly record intimate images or videos without consent. The bill would apply to situations where someone captures intimate visual depictions without the victim's knowledge or consent in circumstances where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy. This legislation would complement existing criminal penalties by giving victims an additional legal avenue to seek damages and hold perpetrators accountable. The bill is currently in committee and has not yet been voted on by the full House.
