Equality in the Halls of Congress Act

The Equality in the Halls of Congress Act would authorize the President to invite each U.S. territory to provide up to two statues for display in the National Statuary Hall Collection. Currently, the collection is comprised of statues sent by the 50 states to honor notable figures in their history, but it does not include permanent representation from territories such as Guam, American Samoa, or Puerto Rico. If passed, this bill would allow these jurisdictions to be recognized alongside the states through the same commemorative tradition in the United States Capitol.
