PUPP Act of 2023

The Providing for Unhoused People with Pets (PUPP) Act of 2023 would establish a federal grant program to help homeless shelters and housing facilities accommodate individuals and families with pets. Under this bill, the Department of Agriculture would provide funding to local governments and nonprofits to renovate or build housing that allows residents to stay with their animals. Additionally, the legislation requires grant recipients to provide basic veterinary care and supportive services to help ensure both the owners and their pets remain healthy and safely housed together.
