Standing with Moms Act
Summary
The Standing with Moms Act (H.R. 517) would require the Department of Health and Human Services to create and maintain a national website, life.gov, to provide information on resources available to pregnant and postpartum women. This platform would include a searchable portal where users can receive a tailored list of federal, state, and local services—such as healthcare, financial assistance, and adoption services—based on their zip code and specific needs.
Under this bill, the website and its associated outreach programs would be prohibited from listing or referring users to any entities that perform, counsel for, or provide financial support for abortions. Additionally, the bill provides grants to states to help them compile local resource databases and requires that all information be accessible in multiple languages to assist a broader range of families.
