Permanent OPTN Fee Authority Act

If enacted, the legislation proposes several measures to increase transparency and oversight within the transplant system. It would require the government to maintain a public dashboard displaying real-time data on transplant activity, such as the number of successful transplants and the number of organs that were not used. Additionally, the bill mandates quarterly public reporting on how fees are collected and spent, and it requires the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a formal review of these financial activities within two years to ensure accountability.
