Congressional Award Program Reauthorization Act

The Congressional Award Program Reauthorization Act would extend funding and authorization for the board that administers the Congressional Award Program through fiscal year 2028. This program promotes and recognizes service, initiative, and achievement among America's youth. If enacted, the reauthorization would be effective retroactively as of October 1, 2023.

The bill would also modify the physical specifications for program medals by removing the current requirement that they consist of gold-plate over bronze, rhodium over bronze, or bronze. This change would allow for greater flexibility in medal design and materials. The bill is currently in committee and has not yet been voted on by the full House.
