Supporting Our Seniors Act
Summary
S. 2762, the Supporting Our Seniors Act, would create a National Advisory Commission on long-term care services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The commission would assess current long-term care services and develop recommendations for Congress on how to improve service delivery, financing, workforce adequacy, and accessibility. The commission would examine issues including aging in place, financing options for low and middle-income individuals, caregiver support, and comprehensive care access.
The commission would operate for 10 years and would be tasked with submitting annual policy recommendations to Congress, the President, and federal agencies. It would have the authority to hold hearings, request information from federal agencies, and consult with various stakeholder groups. The commission would be funded through congressional appropriations. This is a bipartisan bill sponsored by Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and John Boozman (R-AR), and it has received hearings in the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee as of March 2026.
