Advanced Artificial Intelligence Security Readiness Act of 2025
Summary
S. 3202 would require the National Security Agency to create an AI Security Playbook designed to protect American artificial intelligence systems from foreign adversaries. The playbook would identify vulnerabilities in AI data centers and the broader AI supply chain, including threats unique to AI systems that differ from traditional cybersecurity challenges. It would also establish strategies for detecting, preventing, and responding to cyberattacks targeting advanced AI technologies.
The bill directs the NSA to engage with prominent AI developers and researchers to understand the latest capabilities and security challenges in the field. The agency would produce both classified and unclassified versions of the guidance, with the unclassified portion intended for sharing with private sector companies developing AI systems. The legislation is currently under consideration by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and has not yet been voted on by the full Senate.
