A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate on the necessity of maintaining the United Nations arms embargo on South Sudan until conditions for peace, stability, democracy, and development exist.

This resolution expresses the sense of the Senate that the United States should call on other member states of the United Nations (UN) to redouble efforts to enforce the UN arms embargo on South Sudan.

The resolution also expresses that the United States, through its Mission to the UN, should use its voice and vote in the UN Security Council in favor of maintaining the UN arms embargo on South Sudan until

• the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan is fully implemented; or
• credible, fair, and transparent democratic elections are held in South Sudan.
