Background
Donald G. Davis was born in Snow Hill, North Carolina, and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. He served as an officer in the Air Force until 2001, during which time he began a career in education as an assistant professor of aerospace studies at East Carolina University. Before entering state-level politics, he also served as the mayor of Snow Hill.
Political career
Donald G. Davis began his political career as the mayor of Snow Hill, North Carolina, and later served as the chair of the Democratic Party for North Carolina's 1st congressional district. He served in the North Carolina Senate from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2023 before being elected to federal office. Davis has served as the United States representative for North Carolina's 1st district since 2023 and was reelected to the position in 2024.
