Loudermilk, Barry

Barry Loudermilk has represented Georgia's 11th congressional district since 2015. Located northwest of Atlanta, the district is a Republican stronghold that includes parts of Cobb County. Before his election to Congress, Loudermilk served in both the Georgia House of Representatives and the Georgia Senate. His professional background includes eight years of service in the U.S. Air Force as a communications operations specialist and the subsequent founding of a private telecommunications company. In early 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election for another term.

In the House, Loudermilk holds significant roles on the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on House Administration. He serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and leads the House Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, 2021. His legislative work often centers on banking and financial regulation, as seen in his sponsorship of the Financial Reporting Threshold Modernization Act and the New BANK Act of 2025. He has also introduced legislation regarding state housing laws and election administration.

Throughout his tenure, Loudermilk's political alignment has shifted from an early association with the anti-establishment Freedom Caucus to a more leadership-oriented role within the Republican Study Committee. He has consistently won re-election in his Republican-leaning district since first entering the chamber.
