Ogles, Andrew

Andy Ogles is a Republican Representative serving Tennessee's 5th Congressional District, which includes parts of Nashville and its southern suburbs. He first entered Congress in January 2023 after serving as the mayor of Maury County from 2018 to 2022. Before his time in public office, Ogles worked as a businessman in the restaurant and real estate industries and held leadership roles at Americans for Prosperity and the Laffer Center for Supply-Side Economics.

In the House, Ogles holds several influential committee assignments, including the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Homeland Security. He serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection, where he oversees national digital defense strategies. His policy focus is characterized by staunch fiscal conservatism, limited government, and strict immigration enforcement.

Ogles has sponsored a variety of legislation aimed at tightening border controls and reforming tax policy, such as the Halt Immigration from Countries with Inadequate Verification Capabilities Act and the Good Friday Act of 2026. He is also known for his membership in the House Freedom Caucus and was one of the initial members to challenge the party leadership during the 2023 Speaker of the House election.
