About
David Scott is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Georgia's 13th Congressional District, which encompasses portions of six suburban Atlanta counties including Clayton, Henry, Rockdale, Newton, DeKalb, and Gwinnett. He has served in Congress since 2003 and is currently in his eighth term. Before entering Congress, Scott spent 28 years in the Georgia state legislature, serving in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1974 to 1982 and in the Georgia State Senate from 1982 to 2002. He also founded and operated a marketing company and worked as a budget analyst under Governor Jimmy Carter. Scott earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Florida A&M University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Scott is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the New Democrat Coalition.
