Pay Our Military Act of 2025

The Pay Our Military Act of 2025 would establish a safety net for military compensation during federal government shutdowns. If Congress fails to pass regular budget appropriations for fiscal year 2026, this bill would provide continuing funds specifically for the pay and allowances of active-duty military members, reserve components, and civilian Defense Department employees and contractors who support military operations. This would prevent service members and supporting civilian personnel from losing paychecks during budget disputes.

The bill has been approved by the Senate Committee on Armed Services and is now eligible for a floor vote in the Senate. If enacted, these emergency funds would remain available until either Congress passes regular appropriations legislation or January 1, 2027, whichever comes first. The measure applies to all branches of the military and includes Coast Guard personnel under Department of Homeland Security jurisdiction.
