Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs

The Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs is responsible for all matters affecting veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Bills referred to the committee follow the standard legislative process: they are introduced, reviewed by the committee, debated and amended in committee hearings, and then either approved or rejected. Once approved, bills move to the full Senate floor for consideration by all 100 senators. The committee currently has 19 members and operates without subcommittees, allowing for streamlined deliberation on veterans' issues.
